About me

I'm a friendly, warm and genuine counsellor/psychotherapist offering face to face and online sessions for people aged 14+ who may be suffering from anxiety, depression, having relationship issues, or simply feeling a little off and not quite themselves.

I offer a supportive, safe, non-judgemental space for you to open up and talk about any issues or problems you may be facing in your life. I start by cultivating a strong, trusting relationship with you, in order to make it easier for you to express big feelings and emotions. I am empathic, and warm, but I am also authentic and genuinely myself. I believe that in order to be helpful to you, sometimes therapy has to be challenging, yet you may be surprised to hear that some humour often comes into my sessions too.

As an Integrative therapist, I draw on all my knowledge from the areas of humanistic, psychodynamic and CBT, then together with you, find a balanced way of working which is tailored to your individual needs or goals for therapy. And since I believe the therapist-client relationship is the most important factor in helping you to gradually feel better, I offer a free 30 minute phonecall or Zoom to all potential clients as a starting point. This gives you the opportunity to get to know me and how I work a little, ask any questions you might have about counselling, and check if we're a good fit. As it's free, there is nothing to lose by arranging a session and finding out more...

For further details about how I practice, as well as general information about counselling and psychotherapy in the meantime, please visit my website: www.nscounselling.co.uk

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
