About me

Hello, I'm Minnie (Michaela) a.k.a. The Women's Therapist.

Feeling lost, burnt out, or like you’ve fallen behind? You’re not alone.

If you’re in your 30s, 40s or 50s and wondering “How did I end up here?” — you’re in the right place.

Do you feel unheard, overwhelmed, a loss of self or confidence, stuck in unhelpful coping mechanisms or patterns? Do you feel like your worth is tied to pleasing others, or how useful or 'perfect' you can be? Do you feel like your past is impacting your present? Is your inner critic running the show?

Maybe from the outside your life looks “fine”… but inside, you feel exhausted, disconnected, on auto-pilot and unsure of who you are anymore. You might feel behind where you thought you’d be, stuck in patterns you can’t seem to shift, or carrying the weight of everyone else’s needs while yours go unmet.

I work with women who are tired of holding it all together, of living in survival mode.

Together, we create a space where you don’t have to perform, fix, or push through. A space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and options at your own pace, gain better understanding of yourself, new perspectives, develop strategies to better cope or work towards goals, and be able to make informed decisions that are more in line with your authentic self!

I am not a therapist who is just going to sit there and nod. I will support you in finding the answers that are within you, even if these are hard to hear right now.

I also have specialist training and experience working with perinatal issues, matrescence (the process of becoming a mother) and the often conflicting feelings that come with this, pregnancy and baby loss, bereavement and trauma.

Therapy with me is warm, relaxed, and gently challenging.

I won’t sit in silence or leave you feeling alone with it all — but I also won’t rush you or try to “fix” you. We go at your pace, making sense of what’s going on beneath the surface, so real change becomes possible.

This is a space where you can:

  • Speak openly without judgement
  • Understand yourself more deeply
  • Reconnect with who you are (not just who you’ve had to be!)

So that you can start making choices that actually feel right for you.

You don’t have to keep doing this on your own.

If something in this resonates, you’re very welcome to get in touch for a FREE 20-minute consultation. No pressure — just a chance to see if I feel like a good fit for you and your therapy goals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
