About me
I have trained as a psychodynamic therapist and have almost 20 years of experience. I have worked with a wide variety of people in a variety of settings including the voluntary sector, the NHS and in private practice.
I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, based on respect, trust and authenticity. Working together we look at early life experiences and how they may be impacting on your life experiences now. While the past is important we look at your current life situation and changes which would benefit you.
I currently teach counselling and psychotherapy at a leading London University . I am also a qualified supervisor and have taught on supervision courses. I have also worked as a Senior Clinician, specialising in assessment.
The aim is to create a therapeutic alliance where you will feel safe for us to work together. I believe that the relationship is very important in this work and I welcome feedback on how you feel the work is progressing. The relationship is based on authenticity and respect. In learning more about ourselves we gain a better understanding of the anxieties which trouble us and give us the opportunity to start making changes in our lives.
I offer brief therapy (12 sessions) and open ended work. I offer an Initial Consultation which is an opportunity for you to discuss your situation and any questions you may have. This is either in person or online. From this, we would decide on the focus for future therapy. We also would also decide on either Brief Therapy or Open Ended Therapy. We would also decide on the fee. The other sessions are 50 minutes.
I have a particular interest in the role of the father in personality formation and psychopathology.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
