About me

Sometimes life is hard but I believe having a space where you can talk openly and honestly without judgement from anyone is a great tool in beginning to understand, adapt and manage those difficulties. My aim is to listen carefully and create a trusting therapeutic relationship with you which will help you to navigate your way on your terms.

You may be thinking what will I achieve from this..? You will create and reach your own goals, whether that is as simple as wanting to feel stronger after a difficult time or wanting to explore your past in a safe environment in order to help your future, I will sit alongside you and help you to get to where you want to be.

You may want to know how this works..? Through person-centred counselling, I will be on your journey with you throughout our sessions so that you feel supported and know that you are not alone in what can be a daunting situation. These 50 minute sessions are your time to discuss what you need to and find the answers that you need at your own pace. If you want to talk about it, I want to listen to it so coming into our sessions with an open mind and a willingness to work together is the first step.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me or have an introductory call to voice any concerns and see if this feels right for you with no obligations. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Studies, Level 3 Counselling Studies Certificate, Level 2 Counselling Skills Certificate all from official board, CPCAB. Alongside this, I have qualifications in further training such as grief management, anxiety workshops, suicide prevention, resilience training and mental health first aid.

I have worked at counselling agencies such as Future Living Hertford supporting people with a range of different issues including anxiety, depression, processing childhood trauma, domestic abuse survival, managing recent trauma, self harm, bereavement and more. I am currently also a young persons counsellor at a secondary school offering therapeutic support and coping techniques for people between the ages of 11 and 18.

I have worked with people of all ages from 11 to 75, all from different backgrounds, ethnicities and experiences and the one thing we all have in common is the need to have someone in our corner to help us reach empowerment and peace and I hope you find that when we work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
