About me
Hello, I’m glad you’re here. I’m Mary, a fully qualified BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I offer a warm, relational, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is happening in your life with honesty and curiosity. I can help to support you in making sense of what’s going on for you, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or low, struggling in a relationship, adjusting to change or loss, or simply feeling that something needs to be different. Together, we can explore your feelings to help find a way forward that feels right for you.
I work from a pluralistic approach, which means I tailor therapy to you and your needs, rather than expecting one approach to fit everyone. At the heart of my work is a collaborative relationship built on trust, curiosity, and respect for your unique experiences. Depending on your needs, I may draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, and CBT-informed approaches. Some sessions may focus on exploring current challenges and emotions, while others may gently explore patterns, relationships, or experiences that continue to influence your life today.
My background in the performing arts has given me a particular understanding of the emotional demands of feeling rejection, self-doubt, and the search for validation. Alongside my private practice, I currently volunteer with Samaritans, supporting individuals in emotional distress, which continues to deepen my capacity to sit with complexity and vulnerability. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out; we can begin wherever you are, at a pace that feels right for you.
I offer in-person sessions in London Bridge and Cheshire. I also offer sessions online (UK-wide), and walk-and-talk therapy in natural outdoor spaces across Central London and Cheshire. If something here resonates, you’re very welcome to reach out. I offer a complimentary introductory 30-minute initial consultation to see if we feel like the right fit.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Testimonial from a previous client:
“ Mary ensured I felt emotionally safe every week, to be open, honest & vulnerable. Mary challenged me in a way that felt safe & constructive and helped me to think of things I hadn’t considered before. She helped me through a really challenging time and listened with empathy and offered me opportunities to question some of my negative patterns of thinking. By being able to process those thoughts, challenge them & confront them head on, I feel completely able to keep doing that for myself now that my sessions have finished. Mary really listened to me & remembered things I’d told her, that I would have assumed were trivial, but she helped me to normalise my feelings, I felt less alone & completely supported. It was like having a warm security blanket each week & I’ll be forever grateful for her support & guidance”.
