About me
Discovery begins in connection - within yourself, with your story, and in relationship with another. You can explore more about me and my approach at www.markgr.co.uk
As a relational integrative therapist, I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the work we do together. Therapy with me is a collaborative process - rooted in mutual curiosity, openness, and mindfulness - where we explore your experience at a pace that feels right for you. I bring warmth, compassion, kindness, and gentle humour to our work, helping to create a space where trust can grow. Integrating different therapeutic perspectives allows me to respond flexibly to what you need in the moment, and together we make sense of what feels most alive, uncertain, or in need of care.
I’m a queer person and a committed LGBTQIA+ ally. As an autistic person with ADHD, I care deeply about making therapy inclusive, affirming, and accessible for all neurodiverse experiences. I’m also attentive to how systemic influences - like patriarchy - shape our lives, identities, and relationships, across all genders and backgrounds.
My practice is sex-positive, and I work with individuals and couples, including those in non-traditional relationship forms. I bring a respectful, open approach to conversations around intimacy, identity, and connection.
I’m also interested in spirituality in the broadest sense - how we make meaning, what gives us a sense of belonging, and where we find hope. I have experience working with clients from a wide range of spiritual or faith traditions, as well as those who are spiritually curious or hold no spiritual beliefs. What matters most is what’s meaningful to you.
Having received therapy at different points in my own life, I know its transformative power. With over 25 years’ experience supporting people through life’s complexities - grief, identity, transitions - I bring compassion, clarity, and deep respect to all I do.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
If you’re considering in-person therapy in Central London, you’re welcome to contact me for a free phone conversation to ask questions and get a sense of how I work. If you prefer to connect by email, that’s completely fine too - whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Our first paid session is a mutual 'assessment' - a space to begin exploring whether working together feels like the right fit. For some people, that becomes clear in the first meeting. For others, it may take a few sessions to settle in, especially if you’re bringing something complex or unclear.
Before we meet, I’ll invite you to complete an online working agreement. This outlines how I practise and offers prompts to help you reflect on what you may want from therapy. It supports clarity and shared understanding from the outset.
In our first session at my quiet, accessible room in London W1 (close to Bond Street and Oxford Circus), we’ll revisit this agreement and begin to explore what’s brought you here. There’s no pressure to share more than feels right. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed story or goal - sometimes the first step is simply acknowledging that something needs space.
There is no one “right” way to begin. You might speak freely, pause in silence, use metaphor, or explore imagery or movement. However you express yourself, I’ll meet you with respect, care, and curiosity.
I welcome clients from all walks of life, including those new to therapy, as well as queer, neurodivergent, and culturally diverse clients. I’m attentive to how systems like patriarchy, racism, ableism, and other power structures may shape your inner and outer worlds. Therapy with me includes space for these reflections, should you choose.
At the end of our first session, we’ll talk about whether you’d like to continue. If you’re unsure, you’re free to take time before deciding. Therapy is a commitment - and finding the right therapist is an important part of that journey.
