About me

Services: I normally deliver Human Givens psychotherapy (https://www.hgi.org.uk/). I have had some training in other models of therapy such as CBT and I am also registered as a hypnotherapist via the GHR. I do some work from home, which means that I have availability at weekends and evenings. People find this helpful for balancing treatment while keeping a normal work or family schedule. Most of my work, including sessions for Glasgow based clients, is online via Zoom or similar.

Method: You are welcome to get in touch for a free, no obligation chat for up to twenty minutes so that you can find out if I am the right person for you. After that we typically start with an initial session in which we can get a clearer idea of the situation, go through some questionnaires and discuss what the treatment may comprise. We work jointly on what suits you best. You are not obligated to attend a certain number of sessions, some people benefit from just one or two.

Subsequent treatments: The normal time between sessions is anywhere from a week to ten days. Occasionally, sessions might be more frequent if the severity of the problems demands, but this is not standard. Some sessions may be a follow-up after a longer period to ensure that the effects of the treatment have lasted. We use the questionnaires from the initial assessment as a benchmark to monitor progress.

Sessions normally last about an hour.

Location: I work mainly online. In-person sessions would normally be held at an address on the Rosneath peninsula. My Glasgow work has moved to online.
