About me
Bloom and Breathe Counselling offers a calm, supportive space where you can explore what’s been weighing on you at your own pace. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin; you’re welcome just as you are.
I’m a BACP-registered, grief & trauma-informed, neurodivergent integrative counsellor, working in a way that is shaped around you and your individual experiences. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
My aim is to offer a warm, trusting environment where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you move towards greater clarity and self-compassion.
Sessions can be held Face-to-Face or online. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained, trauma-informed, grief informed, neurodivergent aware integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My training is integrative, with a firm grounding in:
- Person-Centred Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Psychodynamic and psychological theory (including Freud and later developments.
Alongside these core approaches, I have knowledge of a range of additional therapeutic techniques, which I draw on thoughtfully and ethically where appropriate.
My work is always guided by the needs of the individual client, rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
In addition to my academic training, I have gained practical experience supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I have experience working with:
- Anxiety and chronic worry
- Low mood and depression
- Stress and emotional overwhelm
- Low self-esteem and negative self-beliefs
- Difficulties with identity and sense of self
- Relationship challenges and interpersonal difficulties
- Grief, loss, and bereavement, including anticipatory grief
- Emotional adjustment following illness, diagnosis, or significant life change
- Feelings of shame, guilt, and self-criticism
- Experiences of feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected
I am a volunteer counsellor with Macmillan Cancer Support, where I have supported individuals affected by cancer, as well as their families and loved ones. This work has involved helping people through emotional uncertainty, illness, loss, and the impact of significant change on relationships and family dynamics.
I am also neurodivergent, which brings a lived understanding to my work. This supports a deeper appreciation of different ways of thinking, processing, and experiencing the world, and informs a flexible, attuned approach that respects each client’s individual needs.
I work in a compassionate, collaborative, grief and trauma-aware way, with the therapeutic relationship at the centre of my practice. I aim to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate their experiences.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
