About me
I'm Lucy, a therapist based in Poole who specialises in bereavement, grief and loss, including non-person loss of something important such as a job, a relationship or health. I'm also experienced in helping people who are struggling with anxiety, depression or stress and the difficult thoughts, feelings and ways of doing things these often generate.
How Can Therapy Help?
Different people want different things from therapy which is why all of our work would be tailored to what is important to you. You might want help to process your grief or rebuild your world after a life changing loss. You may want help making sense of difficult emotions that can sometimes be overwhelming or looking for tools and techniques to manage thoughts and feelings which are stopping you living the life you want to. You may want someone to listen and hear you without judgement or someone to help you reconnect with the things that matter to you. Whatever you would like from therapy, I'm here to help you get there..
How I Work
I offer a caring, supportive and confidential space where we can work through the things you're finding hard right now in a way that feels right for you.
From my own experience, I know how daunting, even scary, it can be to reach out for help, particularly if you’ve never had therapy before, so we will only ever work at a speed you feel safe and comfortable with.
I won't be able to give you specific advice or tell you what to do as I believe in your ability to find your own answers and together we can help you find them, one session at a time.
What Will Happen When I Contact You?
Finding a therapist who you feel is a good "fit" for you is really important so I offer a free initial 30-minute telephone so you can see how you feel about us working together.
On receipt of your enquiry, I will telephone or email you so we can arrange a date and time for the call where we’ll explore what you'd like help with and I will explain the different ways I can do that and answer any questions you may have. If you have a preferred initial contact method, just let me know you'd like this to be telephone or email by popping it into your enquiry.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
