About me

Hello, are you feeling stuck and would you like to see things a little differently?I’m Louise and I welcome you. You may have found my page because you’re looking for some support right now. Are you feeling depressed or anxious? Get in touch to see if I can help. Sessions are 50 minutes as standard but 30-minute sessions are available on request.

Are you experiencing anxiety or depression? You might be wondering how to manage different transitions in life; perhaps relationships feel challenging or you have low self-confidence or self-esteem? I work with a variety of topics, utilising techniques to best suit you.

I understand that talking about your difficulties may feel overwhelming but by providing a safe space and caring therapeutic relationship, I offer you a place to see things differently. My approach means that I consider you to be the expert in you. We can discuss what brings you to therapy at your own pace and we will work collaboratively to enable you to process and make sense of your experiences.

I have 10 years’ experience working in the field of psychology and mental health and have supported people with a range of challenges including: issues around food and body image; low self-esteem and confidence; identity; anxiety and depression. I also have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ clients and clients with disabilities and long-term health conditions, such as MS, ME, Cerebral Palsy; alongside working with neurodivergent clients or those who have multiple access needs. I have extensive experience mentoring university students with mental health difficulties, which impacted on their academic performance.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow their ethical guidelines.

I’m currently offering remote work online or via the telephone, which allows you to work from a space that is accessible to you and at a time that works best for you. Get in touch to book initial session at a reduced rate.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
