About me

Finding a safe space to open up and building a trusting relationship with a therapist can be challenging. You might feel confused about what support you need and what needs to change in order to feel better. I am here to help you make the best decision for yourself and work towards a more fulfilled, authentic and connected life.

I am a BABCP registered psychotherapist trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). In the past 5 years I have helped hundreds of people overcome their mental health difficulties through my work for the NHS. My interest in mindfulness, yoga and value-focussed work (such as ACT) has led me to establish my private practice WayWiser Coaching.

My approach:

My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based CBT techniques with mindfulness. Many research studies have shown that CBT is one of the most effective way of treating anxiety and low mood and CBT tools to be great ways of changing unhelpful behaviours and thinking patterns. I have found that Eastern traditions such as mindfulness can be a great addition to conventional therapy, because they help activate our inner soothing system and help us observe our thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them.

What I can help you with:

- Anxiety and overwhelm

- Overthinking and worrying too much

- Stress

- Fear of being judged by others

- Lack of focus

- Low self-esteem

- "Imposter syndrome"

- Lack of social connection

- Being your own worst critic

- OCD

- Perfectionism

Everyone's therapy journey is different and is very much based on what you want to achieve with the help of therapy. Here are some results some of my clients have achieved:

- feeling calmer and knowing how to manage anxiety and stress

- being able to break out of negative thought pattern

- actively creating a more meaningful life

- being your true self around others and being relaxed in social situations

- noticing built up stress earlier and having healthy coping mechanisms

- building up authentic confidence

- being kinder with yourself

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified, BABCP registered Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology and have worked in the public health sector in the UK for over 6 years. Through my work in the NHS I had additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and CBT for long-term health conditions. Over the years I have led workshops and therapy groups on topics such as stress and relaxation, insomnia, worry, low self-esteem, assertiveness, depression and compassion focussed therapy. I am using mindfulness throughout my work as a therapist because it's a powerful tool to calm the mind and observe thoughts and feelings from a non-judgemental point of view.

I recently qualified as a zen yoga teacher and I'm passionate about integrating helpful tools from yoga and meditation into my therapeutic work.
