About me

Welcome.

Are you feeling that everything has become a bit too much for you? Or perhaps you have had a major life event that has brought you to look for help. For whatever reason you are now seeking counselling, I am here to assist you. It is important to find the right counsellor for you. Thus, during our initial session, we will discuss in detail what has brought you to the therapy and how I may assist you on your wellness journey.

I am a Person-Centred counsellor with over 900 hours of working closely with adults (16+) on a wide array of personal challenges. These include Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Abuse and LGBTQ+ issues to name but a few. As a counsellor, I offer you the time and space you need to explore your emotions in a non-judgmental environment. I understand that being open can be daunting at first, but to be listened to is the one thing we all need.

I offer both Open-Ended (Long-Term) and Solution-Focused (Short-Term) therapy to account for the time that you can commit to attending sessions on a regular basis.

The BACP’s ethical framework guides my practice. You can seek this in more detail from the link below on the BACP’s website*. If you ever have any questions, please do let me know.

Training, qualifications & experience

Personal experiences brought me to the search for my own counselling many years ago now. It was after these life changing sessions that I had realised the power in being heard and accepted, possibly for the first time in my life. I wanted to help others to have the same experiences as I did. I sought a career swap and studied at the University of Chichester. In 2023, I was awarded a 1st class BA honours degree in Humanistic Counselling.

Whilst studying I volunteered with 2 charities in West Sussex. One specialises with working with adult carers whilst the other specialised working with Older people and people with disability. I currently work with my local NHS Trust to deliver therapy to those in need.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
