About me
I am a qualified Relational Integrative Counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I weave together various therapeutic modalities and I do not believe in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ model because each person is individual and unique. My intention is to tailor the therapeutic experience to your specific needs, hopes, and concerns and explore together what you feel will help you thrive. I predominantly integrate humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, artistic, and body-focused therapeutic approaches, and I hold at the centre of my work the importance of relationality. By exploring how our sense of self and others is formed from an early age, we can better understand how this informs how we relate with ourselves and others in the here-and-now.
You do not need to know with certainty what your reasons or hopes for coming to therapy are. Maybe you just want space to vocalise your thoughts and feelings to someone without judgement, or make sense of what you’re experiencing with someone who will listen. Through rapport and trust, my main aim will be to provide you with a safe, warm, and empathetic space where you can bring yourself as you are and explore any issues you are struggling with. This may include anxieties, fears, or losses you've experienced, any beliefs, attitudes, or behaviours that you feel are not serving you, and past events and experiences that you feel have shaped you. I view the past, present and future holistically and value the importance of exploring how they contribute to each other in their own right. Ultimately, my intention is to facilitate your journey towards a deeper exploration and understanding of self through curiosity, authenticity, and open-mindedness.
The therapy I offer is culturally informed, inclusive, and accepting of the diversity that is the human experience. As human beings we exist across multiple nuanced contexts, so I feel it is important to acknowledge the impact of these wider systems on our sense of being and belonging and explore them in therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre, a Master of Science in Health Psychology from the University of Westminster, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the American University of Beirut. I am also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have worked across multiple psychotherapy and counselling services and supported a range of clients, each with their own unique lived experiences and diverse presenting issues, on both a short-term and long-term basis. I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, relationships, bereavement, abuse, trauma, identity, and issues of diversity and difference. I have particular experience in working with and supporting neurodivergent women.
In addition to my therapeutic experience, I have worked for several years in the mental health charity sector providing information and support around OCD and related conditions. Although I am not qualified to offer the gold-standard treatment for these conditions, I possess extensive knowledge and a deep understanding of how these conditions can manifest and impact people.
I conduct my counselling sessions in English, however I do also speak Arabic.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
My fee is £70 for a 50-minute session of therapy. I do however also offer a sliding scale, allowing for concessionary rates based on circumstance. I ask that clients pay their session fees in advance, either in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly blocks depending on what works best.
I currently have availability to see clients in-person on Tuesdays between 1 - 4 pm in a therapy space located a few minutes walk from Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction overground stations. I also offer therapy online on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. If you are looking for in-person evening sessions, please do get in touch as sometimes this may be available.
I currently offer online and in-person therapy on both a short-term and long-term basis. I generally offer short-term therapy for 12 to 16 sessions and long-term therapy for a year, however there is always scope to extend our therapeutic work together if needed. I may sometimes suggest that we start with a certain number of sessions to provide some structure and containment at the beginning of our work, and then decide together whether we will extend our therapeutic work and for how long.

Further information
I offer a free 20-minute telephone conversation before we begin working together to briefly discuss what you're looking for and to decide if we will move forward. After booking in our initial session, I will send through our therapeutic contract for you to read through and sign. Our initial session will be more of an assessment session, where we will go through the therapeutic contract together and I will ask you questions about any presenting issues you are struggling with and what your hopes around therapy are so that I can get a fuller sense of what you need. Our therapeutic work beyond this will be more exploratory and open.
