About me

Are you struggling with issues surrounding addiction? Are you concerned that alcohol or narcotic use has progressed from a recreational weekend pleasure, into something toxic and counterproductive?

Do you feel that nobody understands the deep-rooted nature of your addictive personality and compulsion to drink or use, even though you are aware of the destructive behaviours that accompany it?

I too have felt this pain and managed to come out the other side, embracing clean living, holism, and a natural state of happiness. After 20 years of living the torture of active addiction, I embarked on the 12-step recovery process, and am proud to work as a counsellor who can use the benefits of this lived experience to help others on their journey.

Whilst my lived experience and passion for therapy frequently revolve around addiction, I naturally have a deepened personal insight into depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and trauma processing, and I welcome clients struggling with all such challenges.

Parallel to this lived experience I face the daily challenge of neurodiversity and ADHD and all its' complexities, and am happy to work with clients towards developing holistic tools and coping strategies. The therapeutic value of sharing lived experiences with others and seeking guidance, tools, and resources is considered by many a powerful dynamic in the recovery process. I have a passion for helping others benefit through my lived experience and academic studies.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
