About me
I am a BACP-registered and accredited counsellor with over 17 years of counselling experience. My approach draws on psychodynamic and person-centred counselling. I work collaboratively with you, offering a space to explore your feelings at your own pace and understand how past experiences may be influencing your life and relationships today.
Life can bring changes and losses that leave us feeling overwhelmed. You may be grieving the loss of a parent, partner, or pet, facing changes to your work or home, or navigating a significant transition such as perimenopause or menopause. Perhaps your relationships feel difficult, communication has become strained, or you feel unheard or misunderstood.
You may be feeling anxious, low, tearful, or irritable, or finding it harder to cope than you once did. Sometimes there is a clear reason for these feelings; at other times, it can be difficult to put into words what is troubling you. You do not need to have everything worked out before coming to counselling.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, and finding someone you feel safe and comfortable with matters. There is room to talk through your questions, hopes and concerns, and to explore whether working together feels right for you.
I will listen carefully and support you in making sense of your experiences, deepening your understanding of yourself, and exploring what you would like to change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor and an Accredited Member of the BACP. My training is fully accredited by the BACP.
My experience includes working as a mental health advisor both in the NHS, private practice, and overseas, which also gives me an understanding of the challenges that can come with relocation, adjustment and significant life changes.
I am committed to working with the BACP Ethical Guidelines and regularly attend supervision. I am also committed to ongoing professional development.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a range of fees depending on face-to-face, Zoom, or couples counselling. Please see my website for more information at kerryjordancounselling.co.uk
Every session is wholly confidential, and I also attend supervision, which is also a confidential service.
The amount of sessions you need will vary from person to person and depends upon the difficult issues you bring to counselling. We will talk this through when we meet and continue to think about the right time to end during the whole counselling experience. I have a duty to ensure that you only attend for the sessions you need to meet your needs.
Further information
Counselling offers space both to reflect on your experiences and to express your feelings in your own way. As you begin to recognise and understand these feelings, you may also become more aware of recurring patterns in your life and relationships, and explore how you might approach things differently.
Everyone brings their own experiences, perspective, and reasons for seeking counselling. My focus is on understanding you, what you need, and how the difficulties you are experiencing affect your life. We will work at a pace that feels right for you.
I aim to offer a warm, genuine, and respectful relationship, providing a confidential space where you can speak openly and feel heard. I work from a calm, discreet location and offer sessions both face-to-face and via Zoom.
If you would like to speak with someone who is outside your everyday life and trained to listen, please get in touch. You are welcome to ask questions, have an initial chat, or arrange a consultation to explore whether working together feels right for you.
I aim to return missed calls within 24 hours.
