About me

Hello, I'm Katy. I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, meaning my approach is entirely focused on your individual needs. I offer a confidential, caring and empathic space free from judgement to explore the issues that are affecting your wellbeing and impacting your daily life.

Perhaps you are feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed and finding it difficult to see a way forward. I would like to offer a safe environment where you can express yourself and help you work through challenges together. Therapy can help you gain further awareness of who you are, help you make the most of your life and harness your inner strength.

I have had the privilege of working with men and women with a range of emotional issues to access their innate value and sense of self-worth. I have worked with many emotional issues; from anxiety, stress, anger, loss, relationship issues, trauma and disability.

As a relational counsellor I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to helping you explore how past issues may be affecting your present. I will work with you at your own pace with compassion, to gain a better understanding of the source of your difficulties and work with you to understand how they may be impacting your current relationships. To enhance my skills and understanding I am currently studying the Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling accredited by the BACP.

If this connects with you then please feel free to get in touch. We can talk through what is troubling you and you can ask me any questions before deciding to work together.

I offer a free introductory video call to get to know each other and address any questions/concerns you may have. If you decide to go ahead with counselling we would agree to work online or an in person at my partnership practice in Kingston at a suitable day and time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
