About me
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I would be privileged to support you with the next step of your journey. You are welcome to email me with any questions, or to book in an initial free call.
Choosing a counsellor, and therefore choosing the right person for you, is possibly the most important part of the next chapter. You should be comfortable enough with your counsellor to be able to tell them absolutely everything.
It is a privilege for me to be able to sit with everyone I meet, and listen to them open up about anything as we work together to make space to understand what is happening in life. I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds for both short and long-term counselling.
I do have a particular expertise and ability to work with those who had difficult childhoods, or those who have suffered a trauma of any kind; helping them to process memories, dissociation or feelings they are holding on to and move towards a more positive version of themselves.
I truly believe in the work we do together. I also know that people are very good at putting themselves further in the queue behind others; I wonder if you're already thinking that maybe this is too much for you - I would love to hear from you if this is what you're thinking. I will make this process smooth and comfortable for you - I'm very easy to talk to :)
Counselling isn’t about telling you what to do, or giving advice or suggestions. I work in a Person-Centred way, which I love as a therapy. Person-Centred Counselling is about understanding that you already have the resources within you, we just need to work together to make some space to work out what’s keeping you from being where you want to be.
This is why it is so important and empowering for the help to come from within you.
After all, no one knows you more than you.
You just might have lost yourself a little, or forgotten who you are, or you might never have truly known and instead always been told by others, and want to take the time now to meet you.
We can work together to help with feelings of sadness, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood and anything else that is troubling you. If you have been having suicidal thoughts, bring them to me and we can talk about them in a safe environment.
Counselling can help in this process; where you are free to bring whatever you need or want to bring to sessions. It’s not my decision where we start, you decide at your own pace, depending on where you feel able to, and I am here to listen; to help see things from where you are.
I'm a great listener, and your life matters.
What happens in our first session?
I will not just expect you to jump in and open up. The first session is different to any subsequent sessions in that I will talk first (usually in sessions you will have the majority of the session to talk). I will make sure that we set up a safe working space for us both, taking the time to talk through important factors such as confidentiality and cancellations and giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the process.
With any time that we have remaining in the session, I will invite you to share what you feel comfortable sharing, depending on how much time is left.
Where do you work?
I currently work face to face at Victoria Therapy Centre in Saltaire, BD18.
The rooms are comfortable, confidential and safe. I also offer video sessions online, via Google Meet.
How should I get in touch?
If you're interested in booking in to get started, we can have a free initial phone call where I will tell you about my working style, and then I'll invite you to tell me what it is that is bringing you to counselling to make sure that I am working within my areas of competency.
Click the 'email me' button above and send me an email to get started. You are also welcome to leave me a voicemail, but I'm usually able to respond to emails more quickly. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
