About me

Hello

If you are reading this then it is likely you are going through a really challenging time at the moment and wondering if some counselling might help. My name is Juliette and I specialise in working with clients who are facing the following life challenges and difficulties:

  • Anxiety/ Low Self Esteem or low confidence
  • Depression/ Low mood/ Feeling helpless
  • Relationship issues/breakups
  • Recovery from an abusive relationship including coercive and controlling behaviour
  • Loss, bereavement or sudden life changing event
  • Work related stress/ burnout/vicarious trauma

If you are feeling low, depressed or anxious, and those feelings are holding you back from living the life you want or experiencing the happiness you deserve then undertaking some counselling can really help. Talking to someone about how you feel, how those feelings impact on you and exploring what you want from your future can help you find a way forward that otherwise was hidden from view.

You might be going through the pain of a relationship breakup or facing difficulties in your current relationship and not know what to do for the best - talking about it confidentially, free from any judgement can help you make the best decisions for your future.

You may have survived an abusive relationship and be feeling lost and struggling to regain your confidence. Talking to an experienced counsellor can help you process what has happened to you and help you reconnect with who you really are.

You may have suffered a bereavement and find yourself stuck in a cycle of endless grief, feeling desolate or as though you will never experience happiness again. Bereavement counselling can provide you with some comfort and give you the space and time you need to enable you to find a way of living alongside your grief without it consuming you. There is no time limit on grief and you are entitled to grieve but you are also allowed to feel happy again.

If you think we could work together, please give me a call on 01274 581100 or send me an email to arrange an initial assessment so that we can talk about what is going on for you at the moment and explore how we can work together that is best for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with CPCAB (Level 4)
  • Accredited Family Mediator with FMA
  • Conflict Coach
  • Post Graduate Diploma (1997)
  • LL.B(Hons) (1996)

For many years I have specialised in working therapeutically with clients who have survived childhood abuse or abusive relationships and who now want to rebuild their lives, reconnect with who they are and develop a sense of self that means they can no only stop the cycle of being with one abusive partner after another but also achieve the self-confidence or self-esteem that is rightfully theirs.

In addition to my counselling training I bring to my therapy practice twenty plus years of experience working as a family solicitor and family mediator working with clients who are going through the trauma of relationship breakdown and recovery from abusive situations. I am also a qualified conflict coach working with clients who find themselves in the middle of a conflict they did not choose to be part of. In addition to this experience I have worked for a Bereavement charity for many years as a bereavement counsellor supporting clients who are struggling to come to terms with their loss.

If you think you would benefit from my experience and training please contact me by email or telephone to arrange an initial assessment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
