About me
I provide a range of Psychological Therapy and Counselling services within the Paisley and Renfrewshire surrounding areas.
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society with over 10 years of experience working as a therapist. I have experience in working with a variety of difficulties and with a range of clients including young people, adults, couples and families. I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person Centred Therapy amongst others. I also provide supervision for Practitioner Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists and Counsellors.
How I work
As a psychologist, I work with individuals on a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, self-harm, relationship difficulties and more. I utilise a variety of therapeutic approaches to deliver psychological interventions that are tailored to your individual needs. I strive to work collaboratively with my clients to identify difficulties and goals for change. The therapeutic relationship is core to my practice and my first goal is to provide clients with a safe space in which they can develop trust with me to explore their difficulties.
I understand that seeking out help can be difficult and it can be a worrying time wondering if you and your therapist are going to get along. After you make contact with me, I aim to offer you an initial appointment within a week. During this appointment, we will spend some time thinking about what you are looking for from therapy and I will make an assessment about what therapeutic approach might be most suitable for you. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little and from there we will make a decision together about how we might proceed.
I have worked as a Psychologist within the NHS for a number of years, gaining experience in working with a variety of individuals and presenting difficulties.
I am HCPC registered and a Chartered Member with the British Psychological Society.
