About me

I have been a practising Psychologist for twelve years and I understand how hard it can sometimes be to navigate life’s challenges. I would love to have the opportunity to work with you to make things easier, particularly if you have been affected by health problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Chartered Health Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council. I have a PhD in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Education and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. My experience is with adults and I offer online therapy so that you can feel comfortable taking part in the sessions from your own home.

The psychological therapies I use are evidence-based and focus on a person centred approach mainly focusing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy.

All sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the client and I will work collaboratively with you to ensure that the sessions meet your expectations and help you meet your goals.

I offer therapy in a wide range of areas, including help with:

  • Anxiety or depression in relation to health issues
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Social Anxiety
  • Stress and Worry
  • Phobias
  • Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Setting deadlines and help with motivation

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

I know that it can be a little overwhelming when you are thinking about having therapy and you might not be sure what to do.  I will help explain what I will do if you contact me so that you know what to expect. Initially, we will have a short 15 minute phone call where I can find out what it is you are hoping to achieve with therapy and you can hear more about what I can offer for you. If we are both happy to proceed then our sessions will take place over Zoom on a weekly basis. Normally I would offer twelve sessions, but this can be discussed and agreed at the start.  Our initial chat is free and there is no obligation for you to take it any further.  You can always come back later when you feel ready if you need more time.

I hope that has reassured you and I look forward to being able to help you really soon.
