About me
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I am specialized in treating adults struggling with a range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties including Borderline Personality, Anxiety, Mood disorders, Eating Disorders and trauma. I utilize psychotherapies that are gold standards in the treatment of various mental health issues. Through therapy, we outline goals for treatment, identify unhelpful patterns, work on the ability to regulate emotions and improve effectiveness in relationships while cultivating acceptance and mindfulness techniques. The overall aim is to improve wellbeing, quality of life and reach treatment goals. I value providing a safe and trusting environment in order to facilitate each person's ability to discuss their difficulties while working towards change. I provide psychotherapy in French or English and also speak some Arabic. I have practiced in Canada, France and the UK and have experience working in public hospitals and in the private sector with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology in Montreal (Canada) and also obtained a MS.c. in Psychiatry, a graduate diploma in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioural Neuroscience. I am registered with the HCPC and a Chartered Psychologist and member of the British Psychological Society.
My approach to psychotherapy is integrative drawing on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I aim to work collaboratively with each individual and tailor psychotherapy to their needs in order to help them reach their goals.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
