About me

I am Fatima, a Psychotherapist with a background in Psychology. If you are reading this it is possible that you are experiencing unwanted emotions such as anxiety, sadness, fear, anger, emptiness, shame, guilt (to name but a few), which almost certainly is leading to unwanted behaviours such as withdrawal, poor communication and harsh self-criticism that makes your self-esteem decrease. These are maybe affecting your relationships such as your romantic relationships, your relationship with work colleagues, with friends or with family members. If this is what is happening to you, you are in the right place. I will guide you through this unhelpful way to think, feel and behave and then you can move toward a more fulfilling life, making peace with yourself and others. What I have listed above is what I hear the most in my practice. So, you are not alone. During your therapeutic process you will discover more about yourself, your strengths, your values, who you are, how to have better relationships and much more.

Book your free online consultation session.

You may have your sessions either in Clapham Common, Central London, Wimbledon or Online.

How does it work?

Primarily, we will talk about what you are currently experiencing, what are you noticing in terms of thoughts and emotions, what has been helpful and what has not been helpful, your difficulties in certain circumstances and your goals for therapy. Together we will tailor your therapy based on your preferences.

From there, we are going to explore in detail who you are (self-knowledge helps us to deal with struggles in general and improve self-confidence). For that, we will talk about self-awareness and self-concept by focusing on inner aspects and explore your skills (and add some, if needed).

We will explore these aspects of your life closely and attentively in a safe and confidential space. I emphasize to my clients that I work from a non-judgmental stance.

What to expect?

Clients normally notice changes and possible (and visible) transformations in themselves and in their relationships in general. It is common to hear that somehow, they feel different. It is very likely that you will notice changes in how you see yourself and others. You will learn skills that will help you get through daily struggles, you will learn about what is valued by you (and not by society), create a sense of belonging and set healthy boundaries for example. It might take time and effort to change but I will guide you through this and it is worth it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
