About me
BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist- Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist- EMDR Therapist- Trauma Specialist- Masters Level Lecturer and Clinical Supervisor - Group Clinical Supervisor for Psychotherapists working on Covid NHS Frontline. I work with individuals and couples.
Individuals Psychotherapy- I am currently FULLY BOOKED for in-person sessions but have availability for Zoom appointments.
Couples and Groups- I currently have some space on Thursday late afternoons/evenings for in-person sessions and also have availability for Zoom appointments.
With a realistic understanding of modern-life and the pressures that it brings, I offer a creative, compassionate, and pro-active approach to therapy which values openness, self-reflection, and the desire to change. I help clients to understand their difficulties, what brought them to where they are now, be that in life or emotionally, and I support them to overcome the complex flux of thoughts, emotions, and behaviour that causes them distress or discomfort. I help people to make sense of what can otherwise sometimes feel very overwhelming and confusing. You don’t need to know where to start, you just need to show up.
LIFE IS HARD. If logical thinking could solve the confusion and distress that comes with it then I certainly wouldn’t be typing this now and you would not be reading it- emotions can sometimes inexplicably take over and leave us feeling at a loss as to what to do or how to help ourselves.
Helping clients to understand and overcome how trauma and pain from the past can play out in the present is an extremely rewarding and privileged position to be in and something I have always found deeply fulfilling.
Therapy is not a magic wand, but it certainly has lightbulb moments and can bring about long-lasting meaningful change to help people live more present and joyful lives.
My expertise in working with people to help them to reach their goals and live more meaningful lives stems from a desire to help people who for whatever reason have found that their life has not turned out how they had hoped. As a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner, with over 13 years’ experience of extensive training and working in the NHS and in private practice, I provide evidence-based psychotherapy which emphasises the use of theoretical and practical therapy approaches which have a solid research-base behind them. I draw upon cutting-edge techniques which are proven to get results and are recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
As an accredited psychotherapist specializing in CBT and EMDR, I am able to work with a wide range of difficulties, diagnoses and psychological distress. CBT and EMDR are theoretically and therapeutically quite different approaches and work quite differently in the therapy room, but for my therapy practice have proved to be extremely good bedfellows; combining logic, strategy and planning with deep emotional and belief shifts. Being skilled at integrating the two approaches also allows for flexibility throughout the therapy journey and creates responsive psychotherapeutic experiences which can be truly transformational.
As a Psychosexual Therapist I have worked both in the NHS and privately with clients presenting with a wide range of relationship and sexual difficulties both as individuals and in couples.
I invite my clients to become curious about themselves and how they interpret and respond to others and the world around them; cultivating a stance of self-acceptance and commitment to overcoming psychological distress and unhelpful behaviour.

Depression
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Social Anxiety
