About me

Hello. My name is Ellie and I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist in London, offering sessions online and in person.

There are a number of reasons to seek therapy. Right now, you might be in a challenging place in life. Or, you might want or need some sort of change. Perhaps you've been through experiences that have left a legacy, or you're keen to understand and address behavioural patterns or relational dynamics. Wherever you're at right now, it's all welcome.

My approach is relational and integrative. I am interested in developing a therapeutic relationship with clients and leaning into a selection of approaches that offer meaning and tangible support, tailored to each person.

Whilst I am integrative, my approach is rooted in the humanistic strand of therapy. From this foundation, I draw upon several approaches, including psychodynamic theory and compassion-focused therapy.

Jargon aside, I offer myself as a non-judgemental, compassionate and kind witness to your experience. I believe that we all deserve to be seen, heard and understood - and it’s from within that experience that we find a path through challenge.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked within different therapeutic settings, including low-cost/accessible counselling services, university counselling services, and private healthcare settings in different clinical and non-clinical capacities.

I've worked with clients seeking support for different things, including; anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, attachment/relational difficulties, disordered eating, anger and trauma.

I have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and I am completing a Masters in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Many moons ago, I completed a BA in Religion & Philosophy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

After your enquiry, we’ll arrange a 50-minute assessment which is an opportunity for me to learn more about you, and you to get a sense of working with me.

If we decide together to go ahead, we’ll arrange weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes (a typical ‘therapy hour’), at a set time and date each week.

There’s no set timeframe for therapy, but I will suggest we commit to a minimum of 6 weeks to settle in together and then review your experience.
