About me

Are you experiencing difficulty in your life? Do you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, are you feeling stressed out by work or relationships? Maybe you are sick of overthinking and having a busy mind? If so, I can help.

I specialise in helping women break free from anxiety and overthinking and help them build confidence so they can live their best lives.

I offer a listening ear so you can share your difficulties and explore your feelings, safe in the knowledge that you will be treated with respect, kindness and that you will be heard without judgement. I will help you to work through your concerns so that you can face life head on and strive towards a more contented future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma and BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an accredited member of the British and Irish Associations for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have trained in an integrative model of counselling and psychotherapy that is underpinned by the humanistic philosophy that healing can occur within a trusting, caring, respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I have studied a variety of counselling theories that include person-centred, existential, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and solution focused brief therapy.

I offer telephone, online and face to face counselling. Online/telephone counselling can provide a more flexible option for those that have a busy schedule, find it difficult to travel or who feel more relaxed in their home environment.

I currently have online/telephone availability Monday to Friday. I have a waiting list for face to face counselling. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to join the waiting list. It is also possible to begin counselling online and then move to face to face as availability arises.

You are welcome to contact me for an initial chat so we can talk about your needs and how I can help you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

IACP
Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP)

The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) sets, maintains and develops standards in the practice of counselling and psychotherapy.

IACP offers different membership categories, e.g. Student Member, Pre-Accredited, Accredited Member, with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

IACP have a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
