About me

I predominantly work from a Person-Centred perspective, but also call on other modalities such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Transactional Analysis, depending on the particular need within each session.

Although it remains somewhat stigmatised within our society, counselling is a powerful form of self-help, self-growth and empowerment that can support you during periods when you may be feeling completely overwhelmed by current and/or historic issues.

Practice description

For anyone interested in personal or professional growth, I believe my coaching and counselling services can provide you with support to find the best solutions to current or long-term issues.

I am confident that both my life and professional experiences, together with my commitment to continuous professional development, will enable me to work with you as a unique individual and provide a tailored coaching or counselling experience.

Recognising that both the time and financial implications of accessing counselling is a huge commitment, as the client, you are encouraged to regularly review and reflect on how the sessions are supporting you and your reasons for accessing therapy.

My first session

The most important aspect of counselling is the therapeutic relationship itself and choosing a counsellor can feel as random as sticking a pin in a map! If you would like to have an initial, free, no-obligation chat, to see if you would feel comfortable working with me, then just click on the relevant link within my website to book an initial 30 minute appointment. Alternatively, just drop me an email or text me on the mobile number provided.

Within this session, I will go through some general overview questions with you, in order to gain an initial insight into your reasons for coming to counselling and what you hope to gain from the therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
