About me
My name is Chris. I am an experienced trauma therapist and clinical supervisor, with an extensive background in NHS mental health services, private psychiatric care, addiction treatment, and my own private practice.
I often work with people who might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or affected by experiences that haven’t fully resolved. You may be used to coping or pushing through, but something no longer feels sustainable.
You might be struggling with anxiety, burnout, relationship difficulties, or patterns that don’t seem to shift. Sometimes there is a clear experience of trauma. At other times, it’s more a sense that something isn’t quite right.
How I can help
I specialise in trauma and its longer-term impact, including PTSD and complex PTSD.
This might relate to childhood experiences, difficult relationships, or periods in your life where you felt unsafe, unsupported, or overwhelmed. These experiences can continue to affect how you feel, relate to others, and respond to stress.
You might notice this as:
-Feeling easily overwhelmed or shut down
-Repeating patterns in relationships
-Being hard on yourself or prone to self-sabotage
-Struggling to feel settled, safe, or in control
I am trained in evidence-based, trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, Attachment-Informed EMDR, and Lifespan Integration. These approaches help the nervous system process difficult experiences so they feel less intrusive and easier to live with.
How I work
I offer a calm, supportive space where you can begin to make sense of what’s going on at your own pace.
Alongside trauma-focused therapy, I integrate psychodynamic and arts-based approaches. Sometimes creative work can help access thoughts and feelings that are hard to put into words. No artistic experience is needed.
My approach is thoughtful and collaborative. We work together to understand the patterns you’re experiencing and find a way forward that feels meaningful and manageable.
Coaching
I also offer psychologically informed coaching if you’re looking for a more focused space to think about a particular challenge, decision, or transition.
This can be helpful if you’re navigating work pressures, leadership responsibilities, or significant life changes.
Practical details
I offer online therapy to clients across the UK and internationally, in line with UK professional standards.
Getting started
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. If you’re considering it, you’re very welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a state registered Art Psychotherapist (HCPC). I use EMDR and Lifespan Integration to process core traumas that are likely to be triggering your current symptoms. My theoretical background is grounded in psychodynamic theory. I also have a Masters in Educational Leadership. I welcome creative expression where needed but this is not necessary. I offer clinical supervision.
Lifespan Integration therapy (LI) is a new, highly effective, evidence based therapy modality in the UK. LI can facilitate rapid change in the brain, it is currently being adopted by the innovative NHS Maudlsey hospital as prioritised treatment for complex trauma and attachment disruptions. EMDR and LI are extremely effective when used alongside each other. EMDR targets specific traumas at the heart of your symptoms and LI deepens insight and integrates your life narrative. school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
