About me

Hello. I'm Kirsty, and welcome to my page.

I am a qualified, BACP-registered integrative therapist.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space in which we can explore your concerns together.

Counselling can be helpful at various stages in life, whether you are wanting to work through difficult experiences [past or present], trauma, grief, overcoming obstacles or working on managing your feelings in a different way or even if you are exploring who you are now and what matters most in life to you.

I have a great interest in relational dynamics and working with the challenges that arise in our relationships both with others and ourselves, as well as considering how some of these patterns may have arisen from earlier experiences.

I can offer you a space where you can feel heard and validated as we embark on this therapeutic and explorative journey together.

I am a warm, highly engaged, and empathic therapist. Since research shows that the relationship we form is the biggest determinant of effective therapy, I offer a free introductory call to help you decide whether I am the right person for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training was at Richmond College, where I undertook the Level 4 diploma in Therapeutic counselling.

My approach is integrative and relational, which means that the way I work is informed by a number of theoretical modalities, allowing me to adapt based on individual needs.

I have particular experience in working with relationship difficulties and LGBTQ+ communities as more specialist areas, as well as working with clients who present with a diverse range of struggles and symptoms.

I am a registered member of the BACP, and I adhere to and follow the BACP ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
