About me

Hello! I'm Chloe and I'm an integrative therapist working with individual adults on various issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, family issues, low self-esteem, loss and stuck patterns of behaviour. Central to my practice is the belief that healing and change can begin in the relationship between you and me; I am to provide a safe relationship where you can learn more about yourself and how you relate to others and experiment with new ways of being. I will give you my complete and respectful attention and will help you to explore and make meaning of your thoughts, feelings and experiences, both past and present.

Whilst it may feel counter-intuitive, truly allowing and experiencing our emotions, even if very difficult, can help us to reach a place of acceptance, self-understanding and growth. Together, we can get to a place where you are more in touch with yourself and are able to make more conscious decisions and changes. No matter what comes up, my intention is to stand alongside you through all of it.

It can feel difficult to take the first step and it is important to find a therapist that feels right for you. We can have an initial session to get a sense of each other and explore some of what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it. The first few sessions will be a bit more structured than sessions going forward as they typically include me running through a few questions about your history and current situation.

Each session is 50 minutes long. Having regular sessions is an important aspect of therapy and will help you to get the most out of it. If we decide to work together and depending on availability, we will pick a time that works and I will hold this slot for you with a view to us seeing each other once-weekly.

I am currently offering face to face and online zoom sessions.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or visit my website, www.chloecosictherapy.co.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an integrative therapist, I can draw on a range of psychotherapeutic approaches (including psychodynamic, humanistic or relational) which allows me to work flexibly with you. I am a BACP registered therapist with 5+ years of intensive training in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre. As well as private practice, I have been seeing clients for several years in various charities and counselling organisations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
