About me
I prioritise a psychodynamic approach to therapy, this means that I place an importance upon the therapeutic relationship and what may be happening, consciously or unconsciously, between us within the consulting room. I assist people to become aware of conflicting, and often unconscious, aspects of themselves which can be a catalyst for self-awareness and change. Our work would be dynamic, we will be curious about your processes and how you make sense of your life experiences; from this we can then learn to understand how past ways of being disrupt your present day living.
The reasons that people come to therapy vary and each person's therapeutic project is unique; together we will look at where you have been, where you are now, and who you would like to become.
I have worked with people ranging from ages 16 to 83, each person is unique and no therapy is the same. I am currently working with individuals, couples, and family units on a weekly basis.
I offer both short term counselling and long term therapy; throughout our work together we will evaluate and 'check in' with how the work is progressing and developing.

Training, qualifications & experience

- I completed a level 7 (MSc) qualification in integrative counselling which trained me in several approaches such as psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive and behavioural approaches. I can cater the therapy to your needs and desired outcomes.
Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
- I am undertaking a secondary level 7 intensive psychotherapy training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Transference-Focused Psychotherapy
- I am training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy, this is an adapted psychoanalytic approach of psychotherapy for personality disorders.
Experience
- I have worked with people experiencing a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, relationship difficulties, and bereavement to name a few. I specifically have experience working with relationships (inc. family issues), gender and sexually diverse people, life changing diagnoses, and people struggling with existential difficulties in their lives. If you are struggling with something that I have not listed, please get in touch and we can have an open discussion as to whether I would be the right therapist for you.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
