About me

There are many reasons why you may be seeking a listening ear right now. Whatever emotional difficulties are showing up in your life, be that anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, for example, I will provide you with a safe, confidential and professional space to explore with you whatever challenges you bring, to guide you to new understanding.

I consider you to be the expert of your own experience and the therapeutic relationship key to affecting change. Reflecting back what I hear you share, can widen the field of your awareness and emerging insights. As an integrative counsellor I draw on numerous approaches. I am particularly influenced by existential therapy – a humane approach to the wider context of life situations; systems therapy – which acknowledges the many, often conflicting, parts of a person and mindfulness – a compassionate encouragement to connect with all of who you are. I aim to gently challenge where appropriate and guide you towards the change you seek.

It's important to find the right therapist for you. You are welcome to book in an introductory video or phone call to see if we would work well together. I look forward to meeting you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Iron Mill College, a BACP-accredited institution. I work with young adult to elderly clients experiencing a wide range of issues including bereavement, depression and anxiety, affects of past traumas, sexual and domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and phobias. As well as working face to face in Exeter, I am a registered counsellor with Betterhelp.com, which offers online counselling.

A lifelong meditator, I undertook 3 years of training in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction at the University of Exeter, receiving my Teacher's Certificate in 2018.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
