About me

Do you feel like you're struggling to hold things together? Are you feeling unfulfilled, unsure or overwhelmed by life? Have you been through life changes or other painful experiences? Are you experiencing difficulties in your relationships?

Counselling is a 'talking therapy' which provides a confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace with a non-judgmental professional.

It is a space for you to explore your problems - whatever they are.

About me

I offer open-ended, person centred counselling with a warm, genuine and non-judgmental attitude. I have experience of working with clients from varied backgrounds covering many different issues including bereavement and loss, stress, divorce, workplace bullying, low self esteem, LGBTQ+ issues and family disagreements.

How I work

My role is to walk alongside you as you explore your issues and to help you identify the skills and tools you have to find your own way forward. I can support you with new perspectives, resources and coping strategies, but most of all I will listen to what you need to share allowing you to feel heard.

Whether you are a person who has counselling regularly or if this is your first time, it is normal to feel daunted or nervous at the thought of speaking to a stranger. I try my best to create a space in which you feel comfortable and safe. I offer face to face sessions or online / telephone. Contact me to find out more.

You might feel nervous and unsure before your first session but please don’t worry, this is completely normal.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
