About me
I am a National Counselling Society accredited and registered psychotherapist. I offer online, telephone and in person psychotherapy and counselling across the UK and beyond. I am lucky to be based in Rural Lancashire (UK).
I have a special interest in Counselling for Carers, Anticipatory Grief and Life-Limiting Illness
There are times in life when everything changes.
You may be caring for a partner, parent, family member or friend whose health has changed, or you may be living alongside the reality of a life-limiting illness. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious or isolated. You may be carrying a great deal while trying to remain strong for everyone else.
As a qualified psychotherapist and coach, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing.
Many carers and family members tell me they struggle with feelings of guilt, loss, sadness, anger or uncertainty about the future. Others find themselves coping with anticipatory grief – grieving for changes and losses before a loved one has died. These experiences can feel lonely and difficult to share with those around you.
I have particular experience supporting:
Family carers
Those affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses
Anticipatory grief and loss
Stress, anxiety and burnout
Life transitions and identity changes and diagnosed Mental Health conditions
Emotional wellbeing for those supporting others
My approach is primarily person-centred, which means I believe in working alongside you at your pace, helping you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive environment. I also draw on coaching skills where appropriate, particularly when clients are seeking clarity, confidence and practical ways forward.
Whether you are looking for short-term support around a specific challenge or longer-term therapy, I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, understood and valued
You do not have to carry everything alone
Lastly I would not describe my practice as work as it is most definitely a vocation and one which I am privileged to have. I am passionate about helping people become the best that they can be and making it long lasting for them.
Training, qualifications & experience
Throughout my working life I have had the opportunity to help an immeasurable amount of people both here and abroad in many diverse settings from secure mental health wards, Refuges, Prisons, Mental Health drop in Centres, Learning Disability Services, charities and private companies where I have provided mental health support, suicide prevention, and coaching.
