UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.

Fee's start from £35 per therapy hour

Calm Together is a socially conscious therapy organisation that seeks to consider individual context so please feel free to discuss reduced rates for sessions whether that is at the beginning of your therapy journey or during the process of therapy should your circumstances require.

Session Length

Sessions are usually around 50min, though family or couple sessions can be up to 90 mins depending on preference.


Appointment may be cancelled with no charge in advance of any session. If less than 24hrs notice is given session will be charged in full. Please keep in mind that our therapist time is precious and cancellations within 24hrs do not leave enough notice for our therapist to fill the clinical slots at such late notice can be challenging and may affect our therapist income. 

Low Cost Counselling

We have recently welcomed a student psychotherapist to our team. As part of her ongoing training  and our commitment to supporting students to train in psychological therapies we will be supporting our student by offering 2 low cost therapy places. These places will be charged at a much reduced rate of £25 per session. As part of ensuring the right fit client for our trainee we will offer an initial assessment prior to allocation and are charging for sessions to support ongoing clinical supervision/support within our service.
