About me

Walking and talking in nature is proven to improve self-esteem and helps to relieve sadness, anxiety or depression.  Our therapy sessions will help you to talk about your difficulties and I can support you with the things that are causing you distress or confusion. Connecting with nature can help you achieve a new sense of security.  Walking and talking, side by side with me, can help you to clarify your thoughts and  to explore what is troubling you. Together we can gain insight into the way ahead, helping you towards a new understanding of yourself and a sense of belonging and purpose. You can achieve self-acceptance whilst changing the aspects of your life that you want to.

If you think "walk and talk" could suit you, please get in touch and we can arrange a free introductory session. If you decide you would like ongoing sessions with me the maximum cost will be £30 per hour (a reduced fee may be possible - please see "concessions" below). I have worked with clients with a wide range of issues and I can work at a pace to suit you, whether for just a few weeks or for a longer period.

Training, qualifications & experience

My professional qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling
  • Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

In addition, I have attended workshops for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to include using Mindfulness, and for using creativity.

I have been able to help people of all ages with a range of difficulties and problems whether at college, university, work or at home. People have come to see me about low self esteem, anxiety, low mood, relationship worries, bereavement, coping with illness or disability, anger or confusion.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
