About me

I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life, without judgement or pressure.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief or bereavement, relationship or family difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, or going through a significant change in your life. Sometimes you may simply feel overwhelmed, stuck or know that something does not feel right, without being able to explain exactly why.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you and what you need from therapy. I am interested in how our past experiences and relationships can shape how we feel about ourselves and how we relate to others, while also paying attention to what is happening in your life now.

I also recognise that sitting in a room and talking does not suit everyone. Where appropriate, I enjoy working creatively and finding different ways to explore thoughts and feelings that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. I am also interested in working therapeutically outdoors and in nature, where walking, movement and being in a natural environment can offer a different way of experiencing therapy. This is always led by what feels comfortable and helpful for you.

I have particular experience supporting people affected by grief and bereavement, cancer, life-limiting illness, anticipatory grief and significant life changes. I also bring over 19 years of professional experience supporting individuals and families through difficult and complex periods of their lives.

Therapy with me is collaborative and led by you. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about, and I will not tell you what you should do. Together, we can explore what you are experiencing, begin to understand patterns that may be affecting you and consider what you might want to change.

Above all, I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood and able to be yourself.

I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy to adults, both in person in London and online.

Sessions are £80 for 50 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor with an MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

My professional and clinical experience spans NHS psychological services, specialist cancer and palliative care, hospice services and community counselling. I currently practise therapeutically within The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

Alongside my psychotherapy career, I am a qualified Social Worker with over 19 years of professional experience. This brings an additional depth of understanding to my therapeutic work, particularly when people are navigating complex relationships, family experiences, loss and major changes in their lives.

My psychotherapy training is integrative, incorporating psychodynamic, person-centred, humanistic and existential approaches, with elements of CBT.

I undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development in accordance with professional and ethical practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
