About me
I have worked as a person-centred psychotherapist for over thirty years (PNCPS, Accredited Professional Registrant), now also practising EMDR. I also offer supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, therapists, coaches and to other helping professionals.
I'm a therapist for clients who are in crisis or in particular areas of difficulty (please see the list below). I also work with clients who are happy or already successful, who simply want to enhance the quality of life even further. I provide the opportunity to examine your life, your relationships and your career, helping you to think about and develop your options and decide what steps to take next. I offer supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists, therapists and other professionals, especially, but not exclusively, social care and teaching professionals.
N.B. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is considered an effective treatment for trauma-related conditions like PTSD, anxiety, phobias, childhood abuses and traumas and grief, helping the brain process distressing memories to reduce their impact, making them less overwhelming.
I am always happy to receive enquires into working with me, with absolutely no commitment to proceed. I aim to respond to enquires on the same day of contact and the next day at the very latest. I will also signpost you to other resources where necessary. I look forward to hearing from you.
I meet clients online and telephone sessions as well as face-to-face sessions in Milford on Sea.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is
a specific type of psychotherapy, considered an effective treatment for trauma-related conditions like PTSD, and other mental health issues such as anxiety, phobias, and grief, helping the brain process distressing memories to reduce their impact. It's a structured, evidence-based therapy recognized by major health organizations like the WHO and NICE for trauma. In essence, EMDR is a recognized treatment modality (therapy) that helps people recover from trauma by changing how their brain stores traumatic memories, making them less overwhelming.

Additional information
Please call or email in the first instance for a preliminary conversation about when we might be able to book a thirty minute exploratory session, that I don't charge for and comes with no conditions or expectations. It's a chance for us to talk, or even to meet one another and to see whether we get on and might work well together. It's an opportunity for you to tell me whatever you want to about your circumstances, and to ask me whatever you might need to know about me and about how I work. After that, I charge £90 (Counselling/Psychotherapy) - £120 (EMDR treatment) a session.
