About us

Hi, I’m Anna.

I’m a warm, insightful, down-to-earth psychotherapist with an international background.

Having grown up in Canada, with European roots, and lived and worked 7 years in Japan, and now 15 years in the UK, I am interested in questions of identity and the contexts and relationships that shape who we are. This multicultural experience enriches my therapeutic practice, allowing me to connect deeply with clients from various backgrounds. Many of my clients explore existential concerns related to their gender, race, age, ethnicity, or sexuality.

Beyond labels and diagnoses, I am interested in who you are, what has happened to you, how you are currently coping, and what you truly need to move forward with more ease. My aim is for you to be seen and understood within a trusted therapeutic relationship, where something new can begin.

I work with clients on a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, questions around identity, life transitions, illness, challenging work or family dynamics, relationship difficulties, and recent or historic trauma. I understand how such experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves.

I am not a silent therapist - we will dialogue. Through cognitive and embodied explorations, we will make space for what is valuable to you, where you find meaning, and what feels confusing, painful, shameful, and is keeping you up at night. I'll be alongside you with patience, encouragement, and compassionate care, offering gentle prompts and challenges to open perspectives, and invite reflection, insight, and the quiet shifts that can transform everyday life.

Change often begins in unexpected ways. The path ahead is yours, with my support.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in integrative psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate in existential psychotherapy from Regent's University London, and a BA from the University of Toronto, graduating with distinction. My post-graduate training was a rigorous five-year program, providing a thorough foundation in theory and clinical practice to work with complex emotional and existential concerns.

I have a special interest in life transitions, helping clients navigate periods of loss, change, and uncertainty such as relationship endings, career shifts, retirement, or entering new phases of life.

I have worked in both private and charity sectors, supporting a wide range of clients. I have experience in inner child work, which can be particularly helpful for clients who have experienced trauma, neglect, or difficult early life experiences. I have a background in supporting international executives adapting to significant career changes and new cultural environments, and I recognise how the demands corporate life may place pressure on personal well-being.

I am a Full Clinical Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and a member of the Society of Existential Analysis (SEA). I abide by the ethical code of UKCP and BACP, including a commitment to regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

These experiences shape a practice that is both compassionate and thoughtful, offering a space where you can feel understood and supported as you navigate life's challenges.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
