About me

A cancer diagnosis can shake our life and move us towards our path. It calls us to examine life's priorities, explore possibilities, examine what is essential for us and what not in order to make important decisions for our physical and emotional health.  A cancer journey challenges all we knew about self-care and self-love but also activates our body's natural resources for healing and re-balance. Although cancer comes with difficulties (physical, emotional or both), it can also initiate a journey of self-discovery and transformation towards a more empowered us.

I am an experienced existential psychotherapist (Master’s degree in Existential Psychology and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University) who integrates Jungian approaches and dreamwork as well as meditation, grounding and bodywork in my practice.

Over the last 9 years I specialise in cancer seeing weekly cancer clients, carers or members of their family. I support the person from the moment of diagnosis all the way through their treatment/s but I also offer post-treatment support, essential for some people towards a smoother re-integration back into life’s rhythms.

I work with dreams and images that the client brings, I focus on the ‘here and now’ of the client’s life, opening the space for them to explore their own unique perspective as well as their deeper visions and aspirations. There is some exploration of the client’s past whenever that is felt necessary.  I also work with myths and symbols and link mythological archetypes to my work. I have worked with art (poetry, painting, collage, photography) that clients bring in sessions whenever they want to.

Since 2013 I volunteer with Macmillan Counselling, I have also through the years held voluntary posts as volunteer counsellor at St Michael’s Hospice as well as Age Concern.

I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Neuropsychology from Nottingham University and I also offer psychotherapy to neurological patients (sufferers of stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Brain Tumours etc). I have experience of psychotherapy offered in parallel with neurological rehabilitation.

I have a small private practice in Bexhill-on-Sea, YouNique Wellbeing Studios.
