MA Integrative Art Psychotherapy

About me

I am an Integrative Art Psychotherapist working with adults, I use talking therapy as well as art and creativity to support my clients in gaining a greater understanding of themselves.

Utilising art in therapy is a great way to help my clients explore deeper and perhaps more hidden thoughts and feelings. This can bring clarity and insight, opening the door to the meaningful change they are seeking.

Creating art in therapy it isn't about being 'good' at art or creating something aesthetic, it is about creative expression. It is about getting to the heart of your experience and the depths of your emotional world.

Being integrative means that I use a wide range of psychological approaches and theories to tailor the therapy to best suit my clients individual needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been providing art therapy to clients for 5+ years, working in many different settings such as in charities, community services, the NHS and privately.

I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE). Before this I completed a Advanced Diploma in The Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts with IATE. I also have a Higher Education Certificate in Counselling and Counselling Skills from Birkbeck University.

As part of the professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council I complete continuous professional development, attending a variety of training courses each year to expand my knowledge and understanding.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
