About me

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, which simply means that I work on a deep level to help people to understand their personal journey through life, and how their relationships in the past and the present have helped shape who they are.

I work with emotional challenges, especially anxiety. I work at the Health matters practice in Central London.  However I am available to conduct therapy remotely, and I will charge less than you would pay to see me at the practice in Central London.

I know from experience that therapy is proven to be a better alternative to medication for anxiety and depression for my clients. These issues are often manifestations of an overwhelming life pain that are too often attacked via anti-depressants. What is really needed is for someone to help you make sense of your life. It is not easy nor is it a painless process – but all that it takes is a commitment to begin the work. I will match your commitment by being with you for the journey to self-healing

At present, I am only available to offer sessions remotely via Zoom.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I have worked in the wider mental health field with people who have severe mental health conditions, as well as those who have had difficult or traumatic life circumstances. I also work with a major charity supporting people in London with anxiety and depression on a daily basis.

I am immersed in the science around wellbeing and human optimisation; which is about the lifestyle and behaviours that best help people to flourish as individuals. I sincerely believe that anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication is far from the ideal way to deal with these problems. It is far better to understand your pain and to find your mind's natural path to healing, rather than medicate.

I am fascinated by nutrition, supplementation and the links between food, medicine, training and longevity. In my personal time, I love to learn about these subjects. I practice intermittent fasting, mindfulness meditation and have been a martial artist for most of my adult life. All of which have been my vehicles for personal growth.
