About me

Hello and welcome! I'm a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist specialised in helping people heal from experiences of trauma, difficult life events, and harmful relationships. These experiences can affect the way we think and feel, our self-esteem, our patterns of behaviour, and how we relate to ourselves and others. Therapy can help to make sense of and cope with the wide ranging impact on our lives.

What would therapy with me look like?

My style is warm, relaxed, and supportive. I recognise that we live in a world with imposed social systems and expectations, which impact us in different ways depending on our identity and life experiences. I place great emphasis on building a safe, trusting, and non-judgemental space where you can bring all parts of yourself.

I am trained in several different therapies which I tend to integrate depending on your individual needs and hopes for the sessions. We usually start therapy by developing a shared and in-depth understanding of what is keeping your difficulties going now. This helps us decide what approaches may suit you best, with the aim of helping you to process past experiences and develop new perspectives, behaviours and resources that feel more useful to you.

Choosing the right therapist can be a really important and tough decision. If any of the above interests you, please reach out and we can arrange a free 15-minute phone call to see if we might be a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with many years of experience working in NHS mental health and physical settings. I currently work in a specialist NHS trauma service.

I am trained in several therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
