Hi, I am Alex. I am an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist and founder of Talking Treatment Associates.
I have a BSc(Hons) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I run a private practice from both Wandsworth and Central London.
Additionally I work as a psychotherapist for The Priory Hospital, I am located from both the hospital in Roehampton as well as their Central London Harley Street therapy rooms.
"There is still so much stigma here in the UK around mental health issues – strange really, as we will happily spend hours in the gym and on special diets, in order to care for our bodies and physical health! So, why not our psychological well being? Recent breakthroughs in neuro-science inform us that physical changes take place in the brain when we are emotionally or psychologically distressed. The mind/body relationship is more central to our lives today than ever before".
My aim is to provide a professional service in a safe and confidential setting, offering access to counselling and psychotherapy in a modern world;
Therapy, specialising in areas such as;
Health Issues; Anger Management; Work Stress; Anxiety; Depression; Stress; Relationship Issues; Couples Therapy; Post Natal Depression; Sexual Identity; Psychosexual Issues; Sexual Abuse; Family Problems; Eating Disorders; Bereavement / Loss, Identity.

Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at Roehampton University gaining a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy
I am a Accredited member of the BACP
I have experience working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, both surgeries and institutions, GP and Psychiatrist led.
For the last 7 years I have worked privately for the NHS within a Wandsworth GP surgery and as a therapist at the Priory Hospital, Roehampton and Harley Street.
Alongside this I have been lucky enough to build up a private practice in both Southfields SW18, and Central London W1G 7BS. It is in my private practice that I take much fulfillment from running tailored therapeutic support groups for stress management, anger management, post natal depression and relationships.
In the last 2 years I have created a unique stress management programme that runs UK weekenders for both public and corporate interest.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Fee's for Individual Therapy;
Fee’s from a Wandsworth
Initial assessment is £75
Fee thereafter range from £65 - £75
Fee’s from Central London, Weymouth St, W1G 7BS are £95
I strongly believe a one off initial assessment is essential for you, not just me. This gives us the opportunity to assess how you feel about the therapeutic environment, as well as consider me as your therapist.
A one off assessment does not contract you. If you feel you would like to trial another therapist before committing to any more sessions then I can refer you to a colleague to trial.
During the assessment, should it be that I believe you would be better suited to a specialist colleague then fee's may vary, according to their fee structure, this will be discussed together in the assessment.
