About me

Hi. How are you? How are you coping? Do you wish for contentment and vibrancy in life? Do you wonder who you are? Would you like to be seen? Listened to? Do you long to be understood?

My name is Alex and I endeavour to provide you with a bit of time that is all about you. I will hold a safe space for your worries, doubts, your joys, and your sorrows. Anything you bring here is welcome and will be treated with respect and compassion in confidence.

I work with a variety of clients, but my main passions are work with late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults (self-diagnosed or awaiting assessment included) and people who want better relationships with themselves and with others.

I am also dedicated to work with people who want to make sense of their childhood adversities and figure out ways to understand their effect on the present relational patterns.

I experienced first hand the anguish and confusion when navigating this world as a neurodivergent woman. I know that feeling of trying to figure out the rules of the game while playing it. I also know what it’s like to feel confused and hurt in relationships that were meant to enrich and elevate. How frustrating it was to work twice as hard to get half as much!

You are not alone. You are not bad or broken. You are smarter than you think and stronger than you look. Let me show you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an Ofqual recognised qualification in Level 4 Therapeutic Counselling and have been a volunteer at the local community service since October 2022 seeing a variety of clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work in an integrative way informed by humanistic approach and attachment. My passion lies in serving neurodivergent people and people with adverse childhoods, as well as people who wish for better, more fulfilling relationships. We agree on how we work and regularly evaluate what works and what doesn't. You are the agent of your own healing and I will support you by simply listening or by offering a more hands on approach. It's your journey and you decide what happens on it.

Starting from June 2024 I will be offering walk and talk therapy on Fridays. Contact me to find out more.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My premises are step-free but my bathroom is not adapted for disabilities as it is a small domestic use bathroom located under the stairs.
