About me
Deeply Grounded Support for the Conversations Most People Avoid
I offer a therapeutic space that is clinically robust, yet deeply warm and approachable. My path to this work is a bit unconventional: before entering private practice, I spent years as a frontline humanitarian aid worker in global conflict zones, a hospital chaplain, a family therapist in a hospice, and a meditation teacher immersed in deep silence.
What this means for you is that I bring an unshakeable presence to our work. I am remarkably hard to shock and accustomed to the darkest hours and the heaviest grief. If your world feels like it is on fire, or if you are carrying pain that feels "too much" for a standard clinical room, I am here to provide a grounded, steady anchor so we can navigate it together.
Trauma & Complex Trauma (cPTSD)
Healing from severe trauma requires more than just talking; it requires working directly with the nervous system. As a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified EMDR Practitioner, I do not use a rigid, "one-size-fits-all" script. Instead, I integrate evidence-based trauma modalities (EMDR, IFS/Parts Work, and Somatic processing) with a profound respect for your body's somatic landscape. Whether you are navigating a recent traumatic event or the enduring exhaustion of childhood complex trauma, we work at a pace that honours your nervous system, safely moving the trauma through rather than just talking in circles around it.
End-of-Life, Chronic Illness & Complex Bereavement
I spent seven years sitting at the ultimate threshold with humans facing terminal illness, profound loss, and fundamental existential concerns. Serving as a family therapist in a hospice and a chaplain in hospital settings, I am not afraid of the conversations most people avoid. Whether you are navigating your own diagnosis, caring for a dying loved one, or struggling with the aftermath of grief, I provide a space that holds immense reverence (and the occasional bit of necessary humour).
Pet Bereavement
I bring that exact same clinical and spiritual weight to the loss of our animal companions. As a multi-pet parent, I know that our furry companions are often our most vital, unconditional attachments. When we lose them, the grief is every bit as raw and complex as human loss, yet it often goes unrecognised by society. I honour pet loss from the diagnostic stage through to end-of-life processes and subsequent bereavement, treating it as the profound grief that it truly is.
My Approach & Credentials
I am an accredited member of the BACP, a Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner (with specialist training in complex trauma and dissociation), and a Certified EMDR Practitioner.
Because trauma lives in the body as well as the mind and the heart, I integrate EMDR with IFS, Somatic, and Sensorimotor approaches to support healing that is both deeply relational and body-based. Drawing further from Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, and Mindfulness traditions, I tailor my work entirely to your unique landscape. I know from experience that regardless of the trauma faced or the stage of life you are in, it is never too late to integrate your experiences and transform your wellbeing.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
