About me
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychotherapist and Integrative counsellor with many years experience of working privately and within the NHS in GP surgeries.
CBT has become one of the most advocated forms of psychological therapy in recent years, largely due to experimental evidence and its therapeutic success. It is promoted by the NHS and the media as being the most effective and efficient form of therapy available for a wide range of psychological problems.
However, there is evidence that other forms of therapy, including mindfulness-based and integrated approaches may be just as effective as CBT. It has also been suggested that a more important variable is the therapist. The therapist who is able to form a good therapeutic alliance with you is more likely to help you towards positive change in your life, irrespective of approach. Also important is the belief shared by you and your therapist that this particular style of therapy is the one best suited to this situation and to you. Consequently, I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs and endeavour to provide a supportive environment to enable you to openly address your concerns.
I work with individuals and couples.
I can offer sessions in English or in Greek.
I am now offering sessions remotely, as an alternative to face to face therapy. You can choose between phone, WhatsApp, Skype or Zoom virtual meetings. An email address is required for Zoom, together with access to a webcam, on your smart phone, tablet or computer. Payment can be made by Bankers’ Automated Credit (BACs).
