No-one ever said life was easy! For all of us at times life may seem chaotic, overwhelming or meaningless. We may be paralysed by too much choice or believe we have no choice at all.
Sometimes this leads to feelings of anxiety, uncertainty and sadness which may be linked to a particular crisis or may not appear to have any foundation whatsoever. What we often want is to make sense of our feelings and gain a clearer understanding of our lives and relationships.
Without doubt, life's challenges are more stressful and difficult if you feel no-one listens or understands. As a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist/counsellor, I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to talk, explore your experiences and hopefully make sense of your thoughts and feelings.
Training, qualifications & experience
After working for many years in the commercial business sector, I changed direction in my early 30s and, having completed a Psychology degree, commenced Psychotherapy and Counselling training at Regent's College in London.
I undertook a Masters degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling, based on an integrative approach, covering a number of disciplines, such as psychoanalysis, humanistic and existential therapy and short training courses in areas such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the body and spirituality. I then continued my studies, obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Existential Psychotherapy.
Aside from private practice, I have worked for many years in the NHS for Ealing PCT and also held an honorary position with the mental health service of Enfield, Barnet and Harringey NHS. These experiences have led to meeting clients with a huge variety of issues such as addiction, abuse, bereavement, child/family and couple relationships, cultural issues, depression, health concerns, issues of confidence and self-esteem, sexual identity, work-related pressures, trauma and phobias, to name but a few.
