About me

Coronavirus update

Due to the current Coronavirus crisis I have temporarily moved to working online (Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp video call), or by telephone. I'm aware that some people are going to be badly affected financially by this crisis and I want to take that into account. If your household income has dropped because of coronavirus we can discuss a concessionary rate. If your income has stayed the same I would ask that you pay my current rate, so I can afford to offer concessions to others...thank you.

I have many years’ experience as a therapist in the private sector and within the NHS. With clinics in Tunbridge Wells, City of London and Primrose Hill, London, I am here to listen and support you through whatever is troubling or overwhelming you. Counselling can offer you a safe, confidential and welcoming space where you can be truly heard and understood - where together we can respectfully explore your feelings, help you to make better sense of what's going on, and open the way to new possibilities.

I work with a broad range of clients, from all backgrounds and walks of life, and have experience with more complex cases, including trauma-survival and mental health issues. My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different theoretical models in order to best meet your individual needs. As a practising craniosacral therapist I also have an interest in how our bodies so often express our life experiences; I can help you to feel more connected with your body and more at ease physically. I work on a short-term of open-ended basis, to suit your needs.

Many of my clients come for help with relationship difficulties, or following bereavement, divorce, redundancy, termination of pregnancy or miscarriage. Some are struggling with general feelings of depression and anxiety, loneliness, low self-esteem, or want support coming to terms with a difficult or traumatic personal history. Others feel stuck-in-a-rut in their lives, whilst some may simply seek a deeper understanding of themselves and how they relate with others, or want to feel more alive and at-one with the world.

I work relationally, and have a warm, sensitive, non-judgemental and down-to-earth approach. Whatever you bring I will work together with you to help you find release from painful thoughts and feelings, both emotional and physical. My aim is for you to feel more empowered and in control of your life, and better equipped to make the choices and changes that feel right for you, in order to feel happier, healthier, more confident and fulfilled.

For many people, seeking counselling can require a lot of courage and I believe it is important that you are able to find the therapist who feels right for you. I offer a reduced fee initial session, without obligation, as an opportunity for us to see whether we would like to work together. Please contact me if you have any questions, or would like to arrange an appointment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
