Profile
I endeavour to offer you an empathic, safe, honest and confidential space allowing you to explore difficult or troubling thoughts and feelings you may be experiencing.
I offer a free initial consultation giving us the opportunity to meet and see if we want to work together and for you to ask questions and discuss treatment options (these sessions usually last thirty minutes)
I believe that what presents itself today often has its roots in earlier life. The way we grow up can have a profound affect on how we view life and form satisfying wholesome relationships with others as well as how we choose to spend our time.
I see the individual as a complex collection of experiences and memories and these qualities make us unique as humans. Working with me can support your potential to explore yourself through different forms of communication not resting solely on speaking. We can use movement, drawing, dreams and play as some of the ways you can gain access to difficult to reach parts of yourself, the hope is together we can help unlock and access more of you and encourage fuller richer living.
I have an active interest in the following areas;
Attachment and bonding with children, parenthood, bereavement and loss, low self esteem and loss of confidence, redundancy, purpose and self worth, shame and embarrassment, body image and sexuality, behavioural and relationship difficulties (please see a more extensive list in the Areas of Counselling I deal with)
I am based both in Brighton and Hove and can accommodate day time and evening appointments.
The length of time we need to work together will be mutually agreed and discussed and reviewed as our work together progresses.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice (http://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework).
