About me

I'm an experienced therapist who offers you a space that is confidential and supportive, where you can talk about any aspects of your life that may be troubling you. There can be many reasons to want to come to counselling. We are all unique with our own set of particular problems. Whatever the problem and no matter how large or small it appears please feel free to contact me. I am here to be alongside you, to hear and support you in understanding the deeper levels of your experience.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience

I have a broad experience working with adults and young people with a wide range of issues.

Alongside private practice, I have spent the last 9 years working within Counselling and Mental Health Services in Higher Education. My work has involved supporting students experiencing a range of difficulties such as low-self esteem, depression, anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination as well as those who live with, or alongside neurodivergence.

Prior to this I have worked within Schools, Colleges and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) working with children and young people.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative. I work relationally and collaboratively, drawing on a range of theoretical approaches to support and inform my work. I recognise the uniqueness of each person's experience and therefore the therapy I offer is tailored to each person's individual needs.

Training & qualifications

  • Bsc (Hons) Psychology – University Roehampton 2008
  • Post Graduate Diploma Therapeutic Counselling – University Greenwich 2014

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
